If you asked me "american Idol" more than any other show signalled the death knell for television as a form of entertainment and education. Like the popular saying goes "Movies are art, theater is life, television is furniture"
American Idol has outlived its purpose. I hope it goes away quickly and carries it's off spring with it. I hate that they and other shows devote a whole block to just the elimination. Why can't they do the elimination at the beginning of the next show? So we really need to spend an hour watching the toothy host tell jokes that aren't funny?
