I saw on the news where they said she was being made more aware of and trained for her role than those who married Princes in the past. Considering the history of these marriages, this is probably a good idea.

I heard a lot of comparisons between this union and Charles and Diana. Diana was so much younger, and really never the one Charles would have chosen. I think (and hope) William and Kate will last. She's older, and they've been together for a long time. Hopefully she knows what she's getting into. I was just a kid, but I remember hearing that Charles had to marry a virgin. Is that an antiquated idea now? I hope so. It didn't work out so well the last time. Not that I know that about Kate, but one can assume after 8 years of dating...

I just saw that Kate was given Diana's sapphire engagement ring. Given the history...I don't think that's what I would have chosen.....It is a lovely piece of jewelry though...

I was so happy to see this on tv tonight. Love Wills and Harry and of course Princess Di. May she rest in peace. I remember waking up really early to watch her and Charles get married. I was just a little kid then and I remember thinking I wanted to marry a prince too.

My wish came true 6 years later

Totally agree with you...I think these two are great friends, as well as a love-match. Kate is a mature young woman and knows how/when to be discreet...she also realizes that sometimes she's going to have to play second fiddle to other matters.

I know that in many ways, the Royal Family is passe these days, but I'm still excited for the two of them. I think they're going to make a beautiful married couple.
