Hopedelivers, a supposed family member says that she has cancer, this is not official. Her camp never publically came out and said she had it. At this time it is just speculation. I've read in various papers that she has all types of things. Whatever she is dealing with hope she gets well soon.

The Queen of Soul. She is one of the giants of recorded music in the past half century. Hit after hit after hit. What a great, distinctive voice she has!

This is very distressing news. I wish there could be a way to be rid of this ugly disease.
The newspapers are speculating. She has not come out and said that she has cancer of any kind. Who knows what type of precedure she had done. It might have been something to help her manage her weight?
Aretha Franklin, I think, is well adjusted to being in her own skin, bayarea. She comes from a time when people loved her voice no matter even if she was a little over weight. You question makes me ill. Superficial or what?

Patrick Swayze died from pancreatic cancer, and he was never over-weight.

I wish people would let the weight-thing rest once in awhile.

Pancreatic cancer has more of a risk factor due to smoking than weight.
