I don't feel sorry for them at all. They get paid very well and those that truly don't want the attention get away from it beyond just being noticed here and there on the street. If the live in LA or NY, nobody even cares.
Bingo! The ones who don't want their faces plastered in every rag mag aren't in every rag mag. The ones bitchin and moaning can shut the hell up. I'm sure they all the way to the bank--after sleeping all day.

Example: I read the other day that Tom Hanks became a grandfather for the first time. Hell-I've never seen his kid....or kids.........and why?? He doesn't seek publicity. Period. End of story.

I think I've seen Colin Hanks in a few shows, mostly Roswell

but yeah, there are a ton of celebs that you don't see constantly on TMZ or the tabloids. look at Christian Bale. despite his infamous tirades and recently winning an Oscar, you don't see much of him. and some celebs crave the attention and go out of their way to be noticed- e.g., Lady Gaga, Charlie Sheen, 99.9% of reality TV "stars", etc. I don't feel sorry for these when they start complaining about lack of privacy.

[quote=city_data91;18151514]There are lesser-known actors and actresses. If someone doesn't want to be followed by the media, they should stick to being a low-profile actor/actress.
QUOTE]

That is not always possible. No one can always predict how a film will do at the box office. There have been films that took eveyone by surprise, where word of mouth or critical acclaim have done more for a movie than promotion. A scenario like that can make an instant star.

If I was an actress, I wouldn't want to have to move to Montana (which is what some do) just to have privacy. It is ridiculous to get angry that paps take pics while you are shopping on Rodeo Drive. At the same time, sitting in the privacy of your own home and having these people scale walls and use long range cameras is crossing the line.

At some point it is like living in prison. No wonder so many build these mega mansions with bowling alleys and basketball courts. I'm in introvert, but I would be pissed to know I have millions and can't enjoy it out in public with family and friends.

oh I don't know-if I had MILLIONS I think I could handle a few flashbulbs and autograph seekers. Seeing as how I made those millions by those autograph seekers buying my music or theater tkts and the pics taken that end up in magazines are terrific PR and I only have those millions by some sheer fate of luck cause I said a few lines on a tv show that became a mega hit or learned some lines in a movie or was blessed by God with a great singing voice..............need I go on?
If I had millions I think I could afford security to keep folks from scaling my private walls/fence. Those who want the privacy do find a way to get it.

Oh I suppose, but I still feel bad for them and sympathetic to their complaints. It can be kind of sad to be trapped in something you can't get out of, particularly if it started when you were a small child and you didn't understand the consequences at the time. Like with the Olsens or Natalie Wood or whatever.

All actors get into the business because of fortune and fame. Haven't met one actor who didn't seek it. If they don't want all that comes along with celebrity they shouldn't get into the business to begin with. The privacy complaint is just ridiculous. No one gets into that business not wanting recognition.

People want fame and fortune, but they have no realistic idea whatsoever what it's actually like.

Everybody who has a career wants to be successful. Nobody wants a mediocre career. So in order to be successful, you have to go with the fame part. Some people get no choice in how it turns out. If the media and the general public decide to turn on them for some reason, then the way they are pursued can be relentless and out of control - never ending except for maybe in their own house behind closed doors.

Even then you can't trust that people near you are there for you and not just to get a piece of you. You can never leave your house without worrying somebody is out there with a telephoto lens just waiting for you to slip up. People say dreadful, hurtful things about you that millions of others read and believe. You have to have the skin of a house.

Once you're caught in it you can never turn it off, just wait for it to fade. It sounds great to some people in theory. They may want it at first - but they have no clue, really. Be careful what you wish for.

(Of course there are some people that just love it regardless. But more people than you think don't enjoy it one little bit, once they actually experience it).

The celebrities who are plastered up everywhere are people who need to sit the hell down. Walking around LA and NYC all freely is going to attract attention and the media.

If I was a celebrity; I wouldn't be caught dead walking around in public and when I didn't need to be; I wouldn't be in LA or NYC. I'd be in some nice, quaint small town and not have to deal with the nonsense. Sandra Bullock got the right idea.

The Olsens hate attention. They are always tryin' to stay away from it, but the paps keep snappin' away. they are always being followed.
