i was cruel to my mother today. sigh--to most people she seems like a saint--no, really not that kind at times to me and not that willing to listen to my ideas. i wouldn't 'cut her off' but i am not going to 'relive her life'. and I don't appreciate any input from others who might have had a different experience--this 'You Should, i know things go wrong--but what I did...' attitude really doesn't fly well with me. moral and judgmental--certainly never heard--'walk a mile in another's mocassins'. that is the way we live in the US. each one perfect and feels empowered and obligated to Judge. absolutely glorious.
true and the same could be said for one's kids,siblings,etc..........
mine were mainly stubborn--English, Scots-Irish/mom and German/dad.
WW2 era. Both meant well and would do whatever they thought was best. The work hard, be good, clean, thrifty and decent philosophy. Produced 2 gingerkids. It was certainly interesting.
We go around and around telling ourselves--'I know you couldn't help it but...'
Needs, wants, Rights --nothing that important. Just around and around the same old bush. I won't go around another time---and Mom keeps on trying.
It is not 'bad', ignorant and senseless.
In this process I have missed quite a few experiences that I would have really loved. So I won't do that anymore.
I've heard enough people say--'I know myself and this is what I can and want to do'---they seem to be happy. I plan to try.
It's sad...so sad. It's a sad, sad situation. And...it's getting more and more absurd. It's sad...so sad. Why can't they talk it over? Oh, it seems to me...
I can't judge anyone...because there is probably alot of history there that we don't know. Thank goodness I was never rich and famous, I can't believe the stories my family would tell...
Maybe he finally sobered up and realized where he got his looks from....
