AWESOME!! Kirstie Alley loses 100 pounds!! (character, single, fan, Family)

She's a gorgeous woman, regardless of where the needle on the scale lands. But thinner is far more becoming.

Yep. I lost about 55lbs, and that was the easy(ish) part - the tough part has been keeping it off for over 7 years! Just like quitting smoking or drinking, though, it does get easier with time... I don't have to diet or think about it constantly anymore, but I do have to be conscious of my weight on a daily basis. Slip-ups are okay, just not more than occasionally!

P.S. As I said earlier in the thread, I think Kirstie looks beautiful at any weight... but for the sake of her health, I just hope she picks a comfortable weight and sticks with it already.

LOL... that just gave me a really funny visual. Also reminded me of a great quote from Steel Magnolias: "Time marches on, and sooner or later you realize it is marchin' across your face."

Something tells me that other poster is still very young - as nobody over 30 would dare to make such a remark! I'm almost 35, and while I look pretty good for my age (people usually guess 25-30), I'm definitely not as "tight" as I was in my teens/20s. Gravity is cruel, huh?

What most people don't know about Alley is that she struggles with cocaine addiction. She stops the coke, gets clean for a few, or several months, gains a ton of weight, and then relapses, returns to snorting 2-3 grams a day, and then sheds the pounds.
She's been in this vicious circle for many years now, beginning back when she was on the TV Show Cheers.
I was at a party at my old friend Kip Winger's House in Zuma Beach several years ago. He had just moved into a new house--a rental on the beach--and he was showing me around. He took me up to this upstairs recreation room, where he had a pool table and some pinball machines and a jukebox and a wetbar. We walk in just in time to see Alley, who was there as a guest of his brother, snorting a rail of coke off of this Corona Beer mirror that was laying on the bar. I swear, that rail must have been about a foot long; she was like a vacuum cleaner.
I also remember this hot skinny little blonde girl--she looked about 19--was standing behind Alley holding her hair back for her when she bent over to snort the coke. After Alley snorted the rail, she turned around and pulled the girl onto her lap and gave her a big ol' wet sloppy kiss. It was kind of a turn on. But Alley looked like hell that night, her face was all red and blotchy and it musta been at the beginning of her relapse cuz she was still pretty tubby.
Kip sort of rolled his eyes and looked at me and said something like "I'm gonna kill my brother for inviting her" because he didn't want the chance of a paparazzi showing up at his pad, thinking that Alley might attract them, giving him some unwanted publicity. So, being a gentleman, Kip takes me over to the bar and introduces me to Alley, "Kirstie, this is my friend Matt; Matt, Kirstie." Alley just looks at me with these incredibly bloodshot eyes, like I just grew a second head or something and then goes, "Uhh...yeah, hi. Hey Kip, got anymore coke?"

I am glad I'm not famous; it takes thick skin to survive nobodies bringing up celebrities' youthful indiscretions and judging aging, less than perfect bodies.
