I'd say that 4599 of those occurred between 1972 and 1983. I seriously doubt if he could get *anyone* (including Shannon Tweed), interested in a Kvetching, little old Jew (albeit a damn rich one), these days.

I have to admit in his prime he was a pretty studly dude. I might have taken a shot at him myself if the opportunity had presented itself. (sorry the pic is so big, I don't know how to make it smaller. LOL)

Maybe he kissed that many women, including pecks on the cheek with his mom and female relatives.

I agree, saying he slept with that many women is part of his schtick.

Actually more. I read Wilt Chamberlain's book A View From Above, which was published in 1991. And in that book Wilt claimed that he slept with nearly 20,000 women.

A couple of interesting points here. I'm a big fan of ESPN's Sports Century series, which done one hour bio's on dozens of the top athletes of the 20th century. The series won an Emmy in 2001 for best documentary series. In that one hour program a few points jump out here. Tommy Hawkins was a teammate of Wilt's on the 1968-69 Los Angeles Lakers team. According to Hawkins, he told Wilt after the book was published, "There is no way you slept with 20,000 women because way too many nights I saw you go back to your room with nothing but a bag of McDonalds." Said Billy Cunningham in the same program, "The publisher wanted something in the book to really jump out, really get somebody's attention. When all the opinions from the media died down, Wilt regretted that that stuff was even in the book."

Which kind of leads me to believe that this particular portion of the autobiography was fiction.
