I'm SHOCKED to say the least! I had heard rumors that she was close to bankruptcy but that she would possibly be a judge on either X Factor or The Voice. Sad to see her go, but the past few years have been rough.

How old is Bobbi Christina? Poor girl had it tough before and it's going to get tougher still...

Default Whitney Houston, Superstar of Records, Films, Dies

This isn't political but there has been controversy around this poor woman for years.

Just thought some of the folks here would want to know!

Mods .. Move it IF you must!

RIP, Poor Lady!

More at link ..

Whitney Houston, who reigned as pop music's queen until her majestic voice and regal image were ravaged by drug use, erratic behavior and a tumultuous marriage to singer Bobby Brown, has died. She was 48.

Publicist Kristen Foster said Saturday that the singer had died, but the cause and the location of her death were unknown.

At her peak, Houston the golden girl of the music industry. From the middle 1980s to the late 1990s, she was one of the world's best-selling artists. She wowed audiences with effortless, powerful, and peerless vocals that were rooted in the black church but made palatable to the masses with a pop sheen.

Her success carried her beyond music to movies, where she starred in hits like "The Bodyguard" and "Waiting to Exhale."

She had the perfect voice, and the perfect image: a gorgeous singer who had sex appeal but was never overtly sexual, who maintained perfect poise.

I'm so sad , when I was 5 I bought her tape to daycare as show and tell. She was my favorite singer as a kid growing up in the 80s . I wish I could say I'm surprised but of course I'm not but I'm so sad for her daughter!

Default Whitney Houston has passed on at 49

We may never hear another rendition of the National Anthem sung as honestly as she always did it. One of, if not, the best singers of the present day and it is too bad that she had to pass at such a young age.

There is nothing about why she died available at present.
