Well her type of eating and cooking would do well using Atkins. If it works, it works. What do you want to bet though, she had a personal trainer, a face lift, a tuck here and there etc...I hope she does keep the weight off, but she might be another Ophra that seasaws up and down. Now I am a fine one to talk, I spent my first 60 years seasawing and now, I just don't do it period...Well not 60 years, I wasn't heavy til the freshman 30 set in...

You know, knowing the way people market themselves today, what a great idea for her, and I'm sure her PR people will tell her to do just that.

The high cholesterol diet that she had been marketing for all of these years came back and bit her in the a$$. She can't very well continue pushing those foods to the public, who will feel a grim reminder of what such a diet can do every time she deep fries a cheesecake or loads four sticks of butter into cake.

Her people will have her continue to hawk down home Southern foods - but made in a healthy manner.

Actually, I don't think the American public is as guilty as Ms Dean , who thought that this was OK to eat like Henry the Eighth 24/7! These were rich holiday meals Not everyday dinners.

At any rate, I am glad that she has changed her ways, and my guess is that she'll go back to hawking food - but less dangerous fare.

And perhaps it might be a good time to remove her name from a brand of ham. It's a little cheesy.

I thought the same thing when I saw the cover of People.

Well, good for her on the weight loss and all; but like almost every other female celeb out there she is lying about her clothing size. I read she started out as size 16 and now wears a size 10. No effin' way. I am currently a size 14 and I look like a STICK compared to her. She looks like she is still an 18 or 20. All these celebs like Kirstie Alley do that - they lie about what they weighed when they started, etc. Why can't it just be good enough that they lost the weight? I think it's kind of demoralizing when they are claiming to fit into these small sizes that is obvious are bogus!

She may not be purposely lying. She probably gets a lot of her clothes for free from designers and if they are labeling her clothes a 10, well, she probably thinks she is a 10. Vanity sizing is awful and the higher the amount you spend on clothes, the smaller the numbers get.

I don't know how airbrushed the People cover is, but she looks like a 10-12 to me here.

I laughed my arse off when she tried to claim she was down to a waist size of 20 inches. Kirstie never had a waist size of 20 inches>>> even at birth! LOL!!! Who the heck does she think she is fooling???!!! Take a measuring tape and measure 20 inches and you'll see what I mean. She's not a petite/short woman! She is 5'8"!! Even if she were bone thin, she wouldn't be capable of such a waist measurement. Someone should have brought out the tape measure and challenged the old gal. I bet she would have made a scene and NOT done it. Liar, liar, arse on fire!

She looks much larger than me in that pic, and as I said, I fill out a size 14. I wore a size 10 back when I only weighed 130 lbs, and I am over 5' 8" tall. It must be designer vanity sizes, like someone said, but not us regular department store shoppers.

Yeah, Kirstie also claimed to be a size 2 at one point. She is my height, and the thinnest I ever weighed (as a teen) was 120, and my waist was maybe 24 at that point.
