It's so unfair that we "lovingly" do it for our pets...but can't for own selves.
God bless Dr. Kevorkian for his pioneering work here. Maybe, one day, it will become an acceptable and loving way to end one's life.

Oregon has a Die with Dignity law. If you have a terminal illness and 2 doctors sign off on it, you can end your own life with the help of some type meds they give you

Kevorkian, earlier on, was not a great representative for assisted suicide, "treating" people he hardly knew, some with mental illness like borderline personality disorder (I knew one person he "helped') but I suppose he put the conversation on the table.
I so so wish the referendum in my state would go positive this fall, but doubt it will. Too many Catholics, I think. With the rampant cancer in my family and watching my father's relatively quick but unpleasant demise from cancer this year (seven weeks from diagnosis to death, not much pain, but who wants to be helpless in a nursing home, losing all dignity, and knowing you'll die any day? He kept saying, "If only I had a pill," and I would give it to him if there was that law in his state.

I read that his family is denying that he had any sort of terminal illness. We will just have to wait and see what the autopsy says to learn the truth here.
Either way, he went out in a dramatic fashion. The tourists with cameras who filmed the whole thing including the part where his corpse was fished out are trying to sell their footage. I hope none of the media outlets bid on any of it. Do we really need to see it?

Very sad to know that someone can get to the point where ending their life is the only thing that makes sense to them. I hope he can now RIP. My condolences to his family.

Very sad news. I guess, for whatever reason he had just had enough.
The people who recorded his demise, and being brought out of the water should be ashamed. No doubt they're not. As someone else said 'disgusting and vile'.

I label the act of Tony Scott as more "disgusting and vile" than the act of the passengers on the boat. There is nothing more selfish then taking your own life and leaving those who care about you to suffer.

The circumstances surrounding Tony Scott’s death are starting to sound as strange as those of Brittany Murphy. Tony Scott wasn’t working on a sequel to Enemy of the State was he?
