It takes two. I don't know why he needs to resign as head of the CIA just because he can't keep his pants zipped.

Let he who have not sinned cast the first stone.
News reports say the reason he resigned one of the highest offices in the government was the possibility of blackmail, and also the loss of respect by foreign leaders that he dealt with and their secret information shared by him.

I'm not normally a tinfoil hatter, but the timing of this is highly suspect. First, it happens after, not before the election. Second, as head of the CIA, he's going to be called before Congress on the US Ambassador's murder in the 9/11 attack in Syria. There's more involved than is publically being released on the major news networks.

You know, of all the people in the world who should be able to have an affair and NOT get caught, you'd think it would be the head of the CIA!!! Wow, talk about sucking at your job!

LOL LOLLLL THAT.

Personally I don't know what happened in Bengazi, but apparently he texted her about having s*x under a desk, and the following:
...
After being sworn in as CIA Director on September 6th, 2011, Broadwell broke up with Petraeus, but he continued to pursue her, sending her thousands of emails over the last few months - raising questions about his judgement which led in part to his resignation.

Nothing new to society. He is like most men an male politicians.

Maybe his wife was not giving out. maybe the other woman's husband ran out of blue M&M;s

One thing I will say being European we are very open and find this lifestyle normal and acceptable and don't drag it in the press as if someone killed their spouse. Puritan lifestyle is not really the way of human nature.

I think the reason for his resignation was not the affair, per se, but the fact that he compromised government secrets as his lover had access to his e-mails and other sensitive docs.

Imagine if the head of MI5 was found to have been having an affair with someone who had access to his personal files and government computers.
