For the life of me I can't understand how any mother can let their child me abused and stay with the man! I hear stories locally too of grown women telling their traumas and most of their mothers remained with the man abusing them.
OP, you don't know what kind of person she was. I doubt she was lovely. She was considered very attractive, though. That and good PR can cover a lot of sins. RIP to her, but there are lots of people with worse lives.
She was a heck of an actress. I thought her life was like Gidget's (her first starring movie?), that's how convincing she was. Found out differently years ago.
