In a video spot filmed for the White House's PSA on summer jobs last year, Betty White recalled that she landed her first job right around the time television started. "I got a guest shot, we did a little interview," she said. "And it taught me that whatever I did for the rest of my life, I wanted to stay in that business. And I have. I'm 90 and still in that business and loving it."

Betty White wins Guinness World Record for career longevity

Good for her she is so funny and in her later years we have seen a more ornery side of her.

I remember watching her 1950's sitcom Life with Elizabeth. True I was only a young child at the time but it still makes me older than dirt.

The show started in 1953, about the same time as I Love Lucy. Over seventy years in show business and going strong...

I'm happy she's happy, but a career that's diminished to sashaying into a room to be the old lady saying bad words (Betty White just said "muff"--Yay!) isn't my cup of tea. IMO, that's getting as old as she is.

As much as I like Betty White, I don't the show. Not my type of humor.

We watched her in 1949, when she began appearing as co-host with Al Jarvis on his daily, live variety show Hollywood on Television on KLAC in Los Angeles. I even got a autographed picture of her then. It's lost now.
