Our civilization is geared to the 'normal' individual. The wealthy, I think, have a whole new set of problems that we find hard to identify with. They don't have to toil hard. Most of their day is not taken up with activities to keep the roof over their heads. They have to be self motivating and create their own meaning in life. They set goals and work in businesses and charities.
The newly rich, 'stars', have this problem in spades. Those born with wealth often have education and social contacts and can get involved in various projects. Stars, on the other hand, often have their own small social circle of other misfits and they don't have a broad education to give them intellectual pursuits, so they keep living the dumb dreams that they had in junior high school.
No one of substance wants anything to do with them. Why would they?
