Considering the source rather than the veracity of the report contributes to an uninformed population.
This story was indeed placed in that tabloid months ago, and yet no follow-up from any other journalistic source has appeared anywhere else. If he had been out of their home for months, one would think others would have written about it, even if it was just the local papers in Savannah. TMZ would have been all over it, as would any number of other tabs. How many libel lawsuits does a rag like that have to settle over the years for folks to realize that anything they say should be taken with a grain (or a whole shaker) of salt?
And when I think of an "informed population," I really don't picture Enquirer readers among them...:-]
