Corrupt? Try troubled. You and I can't imagine it because we aren't there.

No. You're right. Some choose to gorge on food and become obese and die from related health issues.

Some choose to smoke cigarettes.

Some choose to drink themselves to death.

Some choose to cast stones and kill themselves and others with words and hatred.

There's not one vice out there that is not COMMON to man. Get over your self-righteous crap. It's dangerous to your soul!!

The truth remains that if you are human, you're susceptible to any vice out there.

NOTE: The only (group of) people Jesus could not help were the self-righteous Pharisees. There's a lesson there and here, folks.

I was genuinely saddened to hear this news.

He seemed like a decent guy aside from his acting talents.

I remember him from way back when he was in "The Big Lebowski" he had a smallish role, but was good in it.

I've never heard of his drug issues, apparently he had been dealing with those demons for a while now.

He's got children and I'm sorry for their loss.

As an aside... man, that had to be some extremely strong dope. For it to kill him before the needle was even out of his arm is very unusual; it takes at least 15 to 30 seconds before the full force of the shot hits you, and most dopers have the needle out pretty quickly after it's empty. I wonder if he got ahold of some stuff that was cut with fentanyl. Just goes to show, you never know what you're getting or who did what to it before you got it.

and the police are looking for the drug dealer because they could be implicated in his death. Fortunately there were 2 full envelopes of the "stuff" left, so it can be tested.

Wow, what a great loss. SO MUCH TALENT!

He got my attention back in 98' with his roll in 'Happiness'. But my favorites were Owning Mahowny and Love Liza. His roll in Boogie Nights was also memorable.

I know I couldn't handle it--the pressure, the fame, people expecting me to be whatever, crazy directors, work comes and goes, people co-horting w/ me for my money. I think it becomes an artificial life. Hollywood sounds like my version of a living hel*!

Here is what the police found in his apartment:

Heroin, Syringes and Prescription Drugs Found in Philip Seymour Hoffman Home: Sources | NBC New York

So freaking sad! What a waste of a life and a talent. I feel for his children. I hope he has finally found the peace he was seeking.
