Freddie Prinze was a comedian most famous for playing "Chico" in the sitcom Chico and the Man. Although at the height of his fame, he shot himself in 1977 at the age of 22 following a history of depression and drug abuse, the latter of which contributed to the breakup of his marriage to the mother of his son, actor Freddie Prinze, Jr. Although I was a young boy at the time, I remember hearing news of Prinze's death.

I've seen snippets of his sketches, but I barely remember his son. His son used to do movies somewhere in the mid to late nineties. Is married to Sarah Michelle Gellar too. That's who came to mind first since he seems to have been missing in action for a while. His father rest in peace has been gone a long time.

Freddie Prinze, Jr. and his wife and children tend to stay to themselves out of the Hollywood lights and they prefer it that way.

He has been asked numerous times about his father and he finally said he will not discuss his father any longer because he does not remember his father, never did remember his father and never knew him because he was so young when his father committed suicide. Freddie Prinze, Jr. was not even one year old when his father died.

When I was a teenager Chico and the man was on but I rarely watched television even then so I only saw a few episodes. I wonder how long his career would have lasted had he not died.

I remember him, but more from his appearances on the Tonight Show. His son is the spittin' image of his mother.
