Post News, Madonna cancels Christmas.

THERE won't be carols, brandy butter or television. There'll be hardly any presents, and most traditional, seemingly innocent festive fare has been banned.

Indeed, a rather restricted version of Yuletide spirit will be in evidence in the $11 million London townhouse where Madonna, her director husband Guy Ritchie and their children Lourdes, 11, Rocco, 7, and David Banda, 2, will spend Christmas Day.

As Ritchie recently revealed, the family "cancelled Christmas'' two years ago -- which means no gifts will be exchanged by the adults.

When did Madonna become such a stick in the mud? At least her husband seems cool...

I'm surprised she still does Christmas. It's been several years since she got into the Kabbalah thing and changed her name to "Esther". Jews don't do Christmas so if that's what she wants to be, it's no big deal.

I just read the article. I had admittedly only read the first half initially, and it sounds like the title isn't quite correct. Apparently, it's not that she doesn't celebrate Christmas, but rather that she feels it has become too commercialized and therefore only gives each of her children three gifts. The rest of the article though from her strict fitness regime to her strict dietary restrictions for the kids and other things I've heard about her (many things from her mouth) such as her ban on television, just makes her sound like about the least fun woman/mother on the planet. Hard to believe this is the same Madonna from the 80s and 90s.

maybe since her father was so rough on her growing up she never got over it so she decided she would be the same way

Yeah really; glad she's not my mom. She seems like such an unpleasant person.
