Probably not that many. They have their pages that their staff run for them and that's probably about it. If they had a personal FB I'm sure everyone would find it and either send endless "friend" requests or spam the page with all kinds of garbage.
One of the saddest celebrity pages I ever saw was the website Melanie Griffith had up promoting herself, which I saw about ten or so years ago. Have no idea if its still up or not. Another pathetic one was the one created by and maintained by the actress who played Jill on Y&R back in the 80s.
Id imagine their manager would be worried about them getting drunk or high and saying something stupid which would damage their image/brand. So they probably have a staffer running it.
Yes. A lot of them do with millions of likes to follow. Case in point...
The popular ones have a rep of their record company keep it active with posts, pics, announcements etc. If you're talking about person pages, then I would think it would be under a pseudonym.
They are more likely to post on Twitter. Facebook has become the realm of the middle-aged and older, and that's not really their demographic. Plenty of celebs have had issues with Tweet fights and the like, though.
Not many. Anne Rice has a FB page, & her assistant always prefaces a post stating when it's him, & not her, posting. Just the photos they put up pretty much validate the FB account.
George Takai has said that while he occasionally does post on his hilarious FB page, it's often an assistant or even his husband doing the posts.
I agree that most of the younger celebs use Twitter.
