Today is the 90th birthday of former President Jimmy Carter.

Born on October 1, 1924, the Georgian has lived a political life that is filled with controversy and turmoil. Many Americans consider his presidency to be a complete failure. It was four years during which a stagnant economy got worse and foreign policy spiraled out of control with the Iran hostage crisis.

The only thing Jimmy Carter did right was never running for any public office again

He was one of the worst. And we can thank him for being the first to break the unwritten "gentleman's rule" that ex-presidents should refrain from bad-mouthing (that'd be undermining) current presidents, especially when traveling abroad. Former President Clinton is another carper who was happy to follow Carter's lead.

Shut up, already.

He was the worst until Obama. I don't think there will ever be a worse Prez than him. Pitiful!

Well, I'm obviously in the minority regarding President Carter. The oil crises (1973) was OAPEC 's embargo
against several nations (Canada, Netherlands, UK, Japan and the US). He protected the Alaskan wilderness,
promoted energy policies, helped establish the Israeli/Egyptian Peace Treaty and kept us out of wars.
He has been an easy President to pick on but after his defeat he became active in humanitarian work,
helping people to own homes (Habitat for Humanity) and a significant mediator (domestic and
international).

***I seldom post anything political but I think he is a decent and intelligent person (a deacon, Sunday
School teacher, veteran and a loyal husband) so I wrote my opinion today.

At least Cartah and Bubba waited until they were out of office to bad-mouth. Not so with 0bola.
