I was a kid when Rapper's Delight came out. But I've wondered what were people's reaction to that song the first time they heard it? That was the first time most people had heard a rap song. To those who were in there teens and 20's what did you think of that song the first time you heard it back in 1979?

I asked this question on a youtube video and someone mentioned that when they first heard this song in 1979 they actually thought the rapping was just the intro and then the singing was coming later. They thought the rapping was the longest intro to a song they had ever heard. That shows how new rap was to most people back then. LOL

LOL. I was 14 when it came out and safe to say I had never heard anything like it. But I enjoyed it. Never did have a clue what they were talking about and still don't to a large degree but I liked the rhythm and rhymes of the lyrics.

Everybody say "Ho-tel, Mo-tel, Holiday Inn."
