No, she's South African American. Africa is a continent. This is why I personally don't like the term African American. Africa, like all continents, is very diverse.
I love to tell people that my mother-in-law is from South Africa. I love it even more when they meet her, and see she has pale skin, and platinum blonde hair. And I really love it when they find out she is Jewish.
I guess one can't assume too much about a person, just based on what continent they are from.
