This is the perfect, sad example illustrating that even young people need medical directives in place--they're not just for the elderly.
Good point! Her current condition means she'll be very expensive to maintain. If they want to let her go, stop feeding, etc. there will be a major court battle, don't you know?
That's a relief. Keeping her body going through machines with no chance of independent survival was (IMO) cruel. A week or 2, sure. But doctors gave the family all the information including the prognosis, based on every test they ran. She's been gone since the day she went to the hospital.
I guess certain members of the family held onto hope too long...and the poor girl suffered these past months so needlessly...soon she will be at peace in the arms of her mother...
