Lady Gaga may be the queen of all things new, modern and bizarre — but at the Oscars Sunday night, she wowed the world with a medley of timeless classics from “The Sound of Music.”

She sang parts of “My Favorite Things,” “Edelweiss,” “The Sound of Music” and “Climb Ev’ry Mountain,” earning thunderous applause from the audience and an accolade from the most iconic version of the musical’s singing nun.

“Thank you Lady Gaga for that wonderful performance,” said 79-year-old Julie Andrews, taking the stage after the performance.

Andrews played the part of Maria in the 1965 film version of “The Sound of Music.”

You know, I really enjoyed that. However, I couldn't help noticing that she was imitating Julie Andrews instead of singing in her own voice.

Man, I'm all male, but that performance by...of all singers, Lady GaGa, was so good, it brought tears to my eyes. She was The Best of an otherwise Dumb show.

It was mediocre at best. They just should have let Julie sing.

" Lady GaGa STUNNED the World" The world? Really.

"How many people watched last night’s Oscars telecast? If host Seth MacFarlane is to be believed, a billion people — one-seventh of the world’s total population — tuned in.
MacFarlane is wrong. Hilariously wrong. Nowhere near a billion people watched the event. No single event in the history of television has been viewed by a billion people.

No, a Billion People Didn’t Watch the Oscars, You Dummies (Not Even Close) | Manolith

Exaggerate much?
