I just found out. It's so shocking! I feel really sad. He was so young and so talented.

Yeah, I just read. How sad. I know this sounds selfish but my first thought when I read the news was, "Oh my god, what's going to happen to Batman? He's supposed to play Joker!" I'm not a huge Ledger fan but he's done decent work and of course who can forget "Brokeback Mountain"? Godspeed Heath, godspeed.

It never does- I don't mean to hijack the thread but in a related situation, wasn't it upsetting to read about Owen Wilson's suicide attempt? I didn't consider myself a 'fan' but it did hit me emotionally to know that someone who appeared so happy and content in the public eye was going through something so terrible (privately). It's still sad but fortunately for him, he wasn't successful. People just feel more helpless when celebrities actually complete their attempts.

IMDB has Dark Knight in Post Production, so I think you're OK with Batman.

It won't be the first time something has aired with a late actor.

I cried watching the last episodes with John Spencer on West Wing, knowing that he was already gone.

Oh my God. I don't know what to say. I'm dumbfounded. I know lots of people will say, so he's just an actor, young men and women die every day; it's true. I just have to say his role in Brokeback Mountain was ground-breaking, was simply amazing, and changed the way many view what and who a "classic" love story involves.

Seriously, today we lost a very talented man, who also was a father. He will be sorely missed by his fans, friends, and most importantly his family. R.I.P. Heath Ledger.

Damn.

He will now be Heath Legend - his performance in "Brokeback" broke through thousands of years of prejudice with healing and heartbreaking now immortalized forever.

Well, I dunno about that, but it was certainly a shock to hear about. What's really important is that he left behind a 2 year old daughter. So sad.

I was never really a fan, but I've seen several of his movies. His roles were all interesting and diverse. He really was a talented actor. Seeing him as The Joker this year will have a different feel to it than if he were alive.

I've had a lump in my throat since hearing of his death. Mostly for his sweet, little girl who will never know her daddy.
