I was thinking about MTV Cribs and for those who remember, Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous. All those celebrities gave open access to their home. I lean more towards "No, you may not see my house". Just for the reason, if I was famous, it would be nice to keep something for me.

What do you guys think?

It depends.

If one is famous because of fans, then it rather pays to play as much to the fans as possible.

If one is famous for reasons other than fandom, then one can probably get away with having a private life. I mean, do we really care what Oceanographer Robert Ballard's house looks like?

No. Now I know about the tours that drive in front of celebrity houses but that's about it. No one has the right to see inside someone's private home, no matter how famous they are. Of course if permission is given via reality show type then so be it. That would be their problem.

Of course not. But these "famous celebrities" are all very narcissist and have that "look at me" syndrome.

No. But with a possible exception for Architectural Digest.

Not really a great idea. Stalkers, burglers can get an inside look and figure out how to breach the house later. Showing appreciation for the fans by spending time with them outside. Perhaps taking them for milk and cookies like Any Kaufman did from Carnegie hall are nice things to do if the person is a mega-Millionaire. Or visit sick kids like John cena who holds the record for most make a wish visits.
