brett hart is a wrestler from the Canadian Hart wrestling dynasty . His brother owen hart was killed a couple years ago in a wrestling accident when he fell doing a stunt and landed wrong and it killed him . He is the uncle to Natalya of the wwe diva champ fame . He was the brother in law to Davey Boy Smith who was married to The harts daughter . This is the best I can explain it . I hope he beats it and wish him well .

Yeah.. For clarification on that.. You make it sound like he fell off a stage or something.

It was 1999 and he fell from the rafters of the Kemper Arena in Kansas City when a 'quick disconnect' on a harness lowering him to the ring released. He fell something like 80 feet. Slamming chest first into a ring turnbuckle, which tore his aorta. He basically bled out (internally) in the ring.

Everyone seems to think it was shown live on TV.. It wasn't. It was a pay-per-view event, which I actually was watching. They were showing a taped promo when it happened. When the promo ended.. The biggest thing I remember was Jim Ross sounding very frazzled and he said something along the lines of "We've got big problems here!" and cameras were focused either on the announcers or crowd shots.

They continued with the show after about a 30-45 minute delay.. I don't remember whether it was the main event, but The Rock was in a match afterwards and grabbed headphones from one of the announcers and while hitting someone said "The Rock loves you, Owen"

It was really just surreal. People in the crowd didn't know if it was a stunt.. Didn't know he had died.. And Vince took a whole lot of heat for having the show go on. Rightfully so. They came back about 30 minutes after the show had restarted and Jim Ross announced that Owen had passed away from the injuries.

I remember that PPV as well... It happened just as you said. The cameras were focused on the announcers or the crowd the whole time. There was not shot of Owen onscreen. Really tragic how he passed away.
