Very surprised and saddened to hear about Prince's death at such a young age! I still remember seeing the movie Purple Rain (1984) on a VHS tape back in the 80's when I was in my mid-20's; I was about the same age as Prince. Always liked the song Raspberry Beret. He was a talented, creative musician and will definitely be missed.

Makes me want to make a conscious effort to see as many of these music artists live in concert as I possibly can afford, because the way this year has gone, who knows if you'll ever get a chance to hear from them again?
Absolutely!

Very, very, very sad news.

I admired him for his songwriting talent, his refusal to cave in to drugs (he lived a very clean lifestyle), and for not dumping his home state of Minnesota for LA or NY (which I always found very refreshing). The man was ultra self-disciplined.

So sad to hear. He was one of the most underrated guitarists ever.

I've been watching/listening to his Super Bowl XLI halftime performance for like the last 30 minutes, particularly when he did Purple Rain.

What a show, what a legend.

That's the thing with death. No one has the power over it. No one is immune.
