For his first solo album, Aerosmith's Steven Tyler went out and made a country record. But here's the kicker: It's apparently—against all odds—pretty darn good. “I’m looking forward to hopefully being accepted into the community of country,” Tyler tells the Arizona Republic.

Hes a veteran talented musician who used those talents to create a different style in this later stage of his career. Not the first rock musician to do this. Ronnie Lee Keel and even David Vincent of Morbid Angel moved to country music. Good to see him continuing to evolve and perform.

I hope his bandmate Joe Perry makes a full recovery after collapsing on stage in my city recently.

I'll try to hunt some of Steve Tyler's country songs down in a day or two. I'm really looking forward to hearing some of the tracks.

Elvis Costello sang a duet with Ricky Skaggs and it was good. He also sang with George Jones - the three of them sang together. Great stuff.

I've grown up being a HUGE Aerosmith fan but this dog won't hunt no matter what Steven wants to call it. Country fans are, still in 2016, very traditional his black eyeliner, black painted nails and flowing scarves are not going to be accepted by the majority of country fans.

Having said that country has evolved a bit to a more rock & roll sound but the artists getting away with it are younger, cute and as some say 'hot'. Even the newer brand of country fans probably won't be enough to make this almost 70 yo rocker a bonafide country artist sorry country music ain't evolving that much.

Aerosmith produced a blues cd about 14-15 years ago titled Honkin On BoBo Blues - material they never played - and it was surprisingly good. I own a copy.

I'll have to check out his country cd.

country music these days is anything but traditional judging from what I've seen on their weekly music award shows, anything added to the current country music scene can't help but be a big improvement

What next between old Jagger about to be a daddy and Tyler going country, it puts Brexit in the shade.
