Loved "The Man from U.N.C.L.E.", although I was more of an Illya Kuryakin fan. Good to see David McCallum hanging in there in his role in the military cop show.

RIP Robert Vaughn.

Robert was very fond of Britain, and appeared in a number of television series over the years. He had a show in the seventies called, 'The Protectors'. In recent years he appeared in the soap opera 'Coronation Street.' He was a fan of the show, as was another famous actor who appeared in it, Ian McKellen.

Also in a show called 'Hustle.'

It was always a pleasure to find him in a show cast, and sad to know he has now left us.

How very sad!

Man from UNCLE is on MeTV so have been watching reruns for awhile now. Also caught Mr. Vaughn on an old episode of Colombo, again courtesy of MeTV.

Here is to a life well lived! Great innings you had Mr. Vaughn, now may God grant you eternal rest in peace.

Matthew Vaughn (who is married to former supermodel Claudia Schiffer looks nothing like Robert Vaughn.

As for the "abandoned" bit; the late Mr. Vaughn set things straight in an interview: Vaughn's truth about son Matthew | London Evening Standard

It was obvious the man was very much in love and deeply taken with Miss. Ceaton but at some point he became aware or suspected she was having or had an affair which produced the child. Mr. Vaughn did the decent thing at the time for the era, insisting the child have his name and all, but apparently forgiving the mother....

As for not wanting children RV when on to have another with is long time wife so cannot see how that could be said.

I loved Man from U.N.C.l.E. Was very sorry to read about his death. I had also read that he was a fan of Coronation Street and had made appearances in several episodes. I think it was the last TV that he did.
