Just got the celebrity death text on him.. He apparently died last Wednesday.

Fawlty Towers is still one of the funniest shows ever to hit the air, and the humor holds up today.

Sometimes, when someone passes away, there are such fond memories that it almost feels like a little bit of yourself has also gone. Andrew Sachs was not taken from us young; he was 86 and had lived a full life. He was not a politician or a businessman. He was more important than that; he made us laugh. But his passing is a reminder that we are all mortal. He will live on immortalized in the roles he played so well.

Andrew made us laugh in various shows, but it is Fawlty Towers he is remembered for. RIP Manuel.

Very well said. I second.

I must watch Fawlty again this weekend, to remind myself of how brilliant a show it was, and how marvelous Mr. Sachs was as Manual.
