Just read that Alan Thicke passed away at age 69 from an apparent heart attack. He was playing hockey with his 19 year old son when it happened.

He was always one of my favorite TV dads. I admit I had a crush on him when I was little.

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully he didn't suffer much and at least he was doing something he enjoyed at the time.

Just saw this on yahoo and tmz.

I'll always remember Thicke as an iconic TV dad.. but I also liked the cameo he did in the 9os Outer Limits series, and off-screen will remember him as a transplanted hockey fan.. Seemed like a righteous, grounded man.

Rest in peace.

So sad.

He played hockey regularly, it seems. Must have been in good shape but who knows? Even his healthy past-time couldn't prevent this.
