George's death has made me sad, angry and frustrated.
Celebrities mix of public all jumping up to get their share of attention (sorry it feels like that for most of them) when they never spoke of George's music before makes it worse.

George has had a major problem with drugs for a long time now. Him passing out in his car, getting arrested for hard drugs, cruising with God knows who..night after night, high on all sorts of horrible stuff. I knew he was in serious trouble but he was good at denying it and being defensive. His lack of good music -the kind he used to make back then- worried me. He had astounding talent and a stunning voice.

And now it's come out from male prostitutes he used, that they provided him with drugs. I didn't know he was into porn stars and that seedy life. I know it's regular in gay life but it's dangerous- George was seriously addicted by the looks of it. It's not healthy and I wonder how much it would have contributed to his death. It's obvious he was unhappy. But apparently he went to rehab. I guess he was on steroids too by his appearance. His partner is shady as hell, too.

It's very sad that he was so unsatisfied he became caught up in such a life. The poor guy really looked like he couldn't stop himself. I can't believe what I'm seeing. Thing is this happens to so many people but is ignored. Now the press and entertainment clan will distort his story to make them money I suppose. I always thought George was a smart guy. But the people he kept company with! And the things he started to like- very immature, his behaviour was just so bizarre. The things I'm seeing I just can't believe it.

His toxicology results are still not in. I'm fearing the worst but after seeing his state for years, I won't be surprised. I hope people are held responsible. Did George not have one honest friend to tell him he was on the wrong path and make an effort to help him or at least keep him away from it?

Very nice retro video of George and Andrew:

George I remember from his early interviews was very thoughtful and mature & seemed not to accept the status quo pop culture. And very humble about his talent. His change was a bit scary. Whatever problems he had, it happens to everyone. But he seemed so stubborn and I guess didn't/couldn't/wouldn't admit bad decisions. I believe he was trying to get better in the end though

Honestly why would the family of a deceased celebrity would even bother mentioning why they had died since people will believe what they want. Heck there are still those who really believe that Prince had died from AIDS even though that was false.

Good point. Gay men are more prone to HIV and AIDS though. People can explain themselves a bit and show some sensitivity. With George unfortunately, he decided he like promiscuity -I didn't believe it at first but he admitted it. He talked about sleeping with just about anyone all the time. It's happens with gay men frequently. Maybe that's why some are speculating. He was at higher risk but I don't think this was the cause of his death. The situation was suspicious and his partner changed his story. And recall George went to an expensive Swiss rehab recently. Drugs I believe was more to blame..maybe someone deliberately tried to sabotage him

It's sweet that Andrew is looking out for his friend. I believe they met when they were young boys and Andrew convinced George to start Wham.

A true musician, ahead of his time:

And, of course, Mary Tyler Moore died at 80 of pneumonia and cardiopulmonary arrest brought on by prior complications (re: diabetes and a long life of alcoholism).

In so many many cases of celebrity deaths (especially those who passed away "before their time"), they are too too often found to have been heavily involved with substance use or abuse in their life histories (whether drugs, alcohol, smoking. or whatever combination of these substances).
I think drugs were holding him hostage for a long time. Could explain his other behaviour. I can't process the new info I saw (his nightlife is shocking if true) to assume it was the only thing, but it could've damaged his heart. Not sure how reliable UK tabloids are but they have pictures and the tales seem to sync with evidence of drugs. I read he was once found with crack cocaine. He smoked too I think. It sure looked like he was in a world of pain and by himself.

The report came out today that he died of natural causes mostly to do with heart disease. At least one article said past drug abuse could be a contributing factor to damaging the heart with the type of disease he had, but unlike many expectations, George Michael apparently did not OD.
