Well, probably the better to be the last of a year than the first of the next.

If one is the first, they will be too easily forgotten ........ unless, of course, they are a God.

I mean, for instance, who recalls that James Noble left us early in 2016?

On the other hand, it does seem to be a pattern with MASH stars that the leave us in the last of the year.

Wayne Rogers? December 31, 2015 (what a coincidence!)

Harry Morgan? December 7, 2011

But not so much for McLean Stevenson or Larry Linville; they departed in February and April, respectively, of their years.
