Mannix is currently showing on Metv, although it's 3AM or so. Started with s1e1 only about a week ago.

Pretty sure that Mannix was a smoker.

Also groundbreaking for the role of Peggy, an efficient African-American secretary, professional woman.

BTW, this is just from memory from watching it when it aired originally. Haven't seen it since.

We get it at 2AM, which originally had me ticked off because MeTV replaced Kojak with Mannix. However am beginning to warm up to the show but still am slightly out of sorts. May end up seeing of can get the Kojak series on eBay or elsewhere.

Tightrope is an American crime drama series that aired on CBS from September 1959 to September 1960

Mike Connors' character would narrate the episode, echoing film noir technique. He starred as an undercover police officer, known only as "Nick" (although some sources revealed that his last name was "Stone", his last name was never shown in the series' ending credits).[2][3] Only his immediate superior on the Police Force knew he was working undercover. Because the police often did not know that Nick was working for the law, he was often in danger from both the good guys and the bad guys, as he walked the "tightrope" between good and evil.

I very much liked the TV series "Mannix". It was a well-directed, well-written, well-acted show all-around. And I very much liked the timeless theme song to it (composed by Lalo Schifrin).

In my various trips to and around Southern California over the decades, I would at times think about many of the Southern California locales and scenes in my mind from "Mannix" as well as other TV shows such as "The Rockford Files", "LA Law", "Starsky and Hutch", and other TV series whose story lines and scenes were based out of greater Los Angeles and Southern California.

Well, Mike Connors lived a relatively long life. Many other celebrities and common citizens are not so lucky.
