I just saw the Hollywood Reporter story on MSN.com, and then checked here on CD. I just mentioned Barabara in my post #16 on the Spot Yesterday's Stars thread about 16 hours before the Hollywood Reporter article posted, I just couldn't remember her last name in that post (but I got her son's name right), and I remembered the wrong decade re her son's show...1970's rather than the correct 1980s.
I appreciated her character of Della Street and she will be missed. Let's do it one more time ...

Perry Mason: Getting a bit fresh, aren't we, Della?
I liked the hint of Romance between Della and Perry that passed by me the first or second time through the series.
One episode had a murder on a lake where Perry had a weekend cabin. Someone died overnight and a main character came to get Perry at his cabin to represent the falsely accused son. Sitting at the table having a leisurely breakfast were Perry and Della (I believe wearing robes).

Parodied nicely in the "MAD" magazine satire, "Perry Masonmint".
"Rogers Hornsby played his entire career in the National League."
