Celebrities don't have anymore power or influence than anyone else. They just have a wider reach due to press coverage.
Nice post, however, sometimes people cherish a celebrity for the roles that they play, therefore, that may cause a celebrity to have more power or influence than anyone else.
Also, I once heard or read Harrison Ford say that when the public is cheering and screaming at you, they're not really cheering and screaming at the actor, but for the roles that the actor played.
