That's what I was going to say. It was common practice in Victorian times.

Charlize Therron adopted a little girl a few years ago as well so maybe the caption is wrong and this is her out with her daughter. But if it is really her son it is odd.

She has adopted both a boy and a girl. Still not sure why it matters how her children dress.

Is Charlize Theron
Child abuse?! Charlize Theron dresses her 5-year-old adopted SON like a GIRL - Jade African

Sorry, it's not normal. There's a big difference between tomboys and boys wearing dresses.

And how do any of you know that he isn't the one who wants to dress that way? Do you know him? Did you ask him first hand? Maybe it was his choice.

We don't make fun of little girls who want to dress like boys, why is this any different? So what if he wears dresses?

In fairness, people have made fun of Shiloh Jolie dressing like a boy and have criticized Angelina for letting it happen.

I just can't figure out why adults feel the need to rag on little children. If a kid wants to dress like a giraffe, let them. It's the one time in their lives that they don't care what other people think of them. I say let them enjoy it, and don't strip them of their innocence so soon.

Despite what some people want to believe, how a child dresses at 5 has little to no bearing on the kind of adult they will turn out to be. Just ask Chastity Bono.

I was wondering about a cultural thing. Charlize is South African - perhaps boys there dress differently than here in America. I'm not sure if the child is also South African, but different cultures do different things. How he dresses makes no difference to me. Kids at that age can be picky about what they wear.

I can only hope that anyone that chooses to make an issue of this stays far away from my family and me.

That is not her child for obvious reasons.
