In my book, at the very least, those who are committing crime, had already forfeited their right to whine or any other right that a law-abiding citizen can claim.

They retain the basic human rights at best, all the other BS social rights and privileges are gone.

Somehow I knew it had nothing to do with being gang raped!

Pretty crappy, none the less!

The British public just takes it, and won't fight back even when their lives are at stake.
Unfortunately Mike, in the U.K., if you fight back against an attacker, or burglar, YOU are more likely get collared by the cops than the perp is.
In 2010, Munir Hussain, of High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, came home to find burglars in his house, the burglars tied up his family, but he escaped, and chased them from the house with his brother, hitting one over the head with a cricket bat, about the length of a baseball bat, but flat on one side.
The brothers were arrested, and charged with causing grievous bodily harm, with intent.
Munir was sentenced to 30 months imprisonment, reduced on appeal to 2 years but suspended, his brother Tokeer, was sentenced to 39 months, reduced on appeal to 2 years, which he had to serve.
Cops are even forbidden to chase thieves that are riding motorcycles or mopeds, IF the thief is not wearing a crash helmet.
A guy from Bath, Somerset, Max Foster, had his ÂŁ1200, ($1575), moped stolen, and the police refused to chase the thief, telling Max that they could be sued if the thief fell off and hurt himself.
