Crosby is right!

All juvenile, but pure rock n roll energy.
See, if it wasn't for his stage shows that appeal to a very specific demographic, Ted Nugent would be a mediocre studio guitarist.

Has anyone ever asked Ted to sit in on an album?

Has anyone not a cover band or tribute band ever covered any Nugent songs?

The only justification for getting Terrible Tedley into the HoF is to start listing crappy bands or artists currently inducted.

This. Exactly.

Well, Toby Keith featured "Stranglehold" on the soundtrack for one of his movies, and covers the song on tour. But I don't think that weakens your argument one bit.

😂😄😸😹🙉🙊
I love "Stranglehold". Only remember "Free For All", and "Cat Scratch Fever". Don't think those automatically make him a candidate for The Hall of Fame.
It would help if he wasn't such a Davy Crockett, I'm sure. A Davy Crockett who became a Jesse Ventura.

Not even that. Those studio cats have to read charts in a nanosecond and deliver all manner of licks from A to Z. Nugent qualifies for neither.

[quote=SoCal25;49241826]There were a bunch of rock acts in 70s into the 80s that were about going out and having a good time and playing some loud raunchy rock n roll. Nugent, Nazareth, Thin Lizzy. Grand Funk Railroad among them. Hard working and hard touring bands, they all belong in the hall. Not because they were transcendent but because they are important to the history of hard rock and have a decent catalog of top notch songs (at least to fans of that genre).

I would include Foreigner since we're on the subject.

If it weren't for his politics and hunting would anyone under the age of 40 know who he is? His few "hit" songs don't get used or played much. He was a blip. Can't put everyone in the Hall.

Lots of more worthy bands haven't been nominated (yet). Like the Commodores. I'm from Michigan (and white) and they influenced by high school years way more than Nugent.
