Also, Crosby doesn´t need to write anymore good songs as he is already inducted.

I had to go to iTunes and search TN's songs to see what he did. The only song I recognized was Cat Scratch Fever. I will admit that, as a teenager, I was not doing much more than listening to music on the radio. Since I started listening to Sirius/XM and iTunes, I learned who did what, back when I was listening. Many times I am surprised by who performed some songs back then. After hearing all the hubbub about Ted Nugget, I was surprised there was only one that I recognized.

I consider myself a conservative politically, and I think the only reason TN is getting press is that he is conservative. There are probably more artists out there that consider themselves conservative, but are afraid to speak out. While I admire his stance, I will still have to agree with Crosby, that he does not deserve to be in the HOF, just for one song.

Maybe someone could point me to other material he was responsible for when he might have been with a group. I did not research that.

Check page 2 of this thread for link to his early hit, "Journey to the Center of the Mind".

Was he a member of the Amboy Dukes or did he just write the music? I missed that post. It didn't show up in my Ted Nugget search on iTunes, but his name appeared when I searched for the song. He may have recorded it on his own, but the Dukes show up with a ton more purchases.

Yes, I agree it was a good song.

Ted was the "leader" of the Amboy Dukes. That's him playing the Byrdland guitar in the video.

BTW - "Nugent"

The heavy-metal recycle bin is full of Nugent-grade noisemakers.

Yes, his signature Gibson Byrdland, usually played through 6 Fender Dual Showman amps

Amboy Dukes circa 1968...easy to pick out Ted

I think Cruzincat shows perfectly well why Ted Nugent shouldn´t be inducted.

Auto correct sucks sometimes, doesn't it. Sometimes it's a hoot!
