You should be able to find a clip of him performing it on the Ed Sullivan Show. It's an acapella performance, with the Jordanaires backing him.

My favorite is "Love Me Tender" and it isn't even his best.

I like it because he is young and tender when he recorded the song for the movie. The movie was about a young and tender person whose heart was broken but trapped in a no win situation. The song is simple and true, perfect baritone sung tenderly. And Elvis himself was apparently that young tender (again) man who went a little overboard but not as much as later.

I like it also because I have never heard anyone have a complaint about Elvis, all who knew him say sweet things about him. That is unusual in this world.
