Maybe because I spent time with The Lone Ranger on Saturday mornings that story still cracks me up. If that's to be part of Jay's comic legacy, he could have done a lot worse! Besides that story Letterman's Christmas Show also gave us Darlene Love with a full-tilt orchestra, still one of my favorite Christmas Shows.

For some reason I thought he was younger. I read the Joe Bologna thread first, and I thought Jay was young enough that, say, Bologna could have been his father if Bologna had 'had him' while in college or right after college.

Sixty-nine is too young though.

I liked Jay very much. I knew him more from Radio on XM and have been listening for a few years. I didn't realize he had such an extensive acting back ground and was on such huge shows like Cheers, Mork & Mindy, Murphy Brown etc...Hell, he is on my favorite show as a reoccurring regular Ray Donovan. I was very saddened that he passed away. More than I expected. I Can't quite wrap my head around it yet. I knew he was sick with something, I didn't realize it was canceer or how sick he was. RIP Jay.
