I didn't care for him as a DJ or the music that he played, but still sorry that he has passed and at a relatively young age.

I always enjoyed his appearances on Letterman's Christmas Show when he'd tell the Lone Ranger story and throw footballs at the slice of pizza on the Christmas tree.

Really liked him, especially when he was an on-air host of a former oldies station here in NY (now it's a hip hop station, sadly). I'm assuming he was allowed to play his own musical tastes, as the stuff was so varied when he was on--and he had GREAT taste. Sorry to hear he's left us.
