maybe they don't feel the need to put it on the media.

I think it is great how those celebrities donate but I am sure they have two motives - to help and to help themselves in popularity.

I go with help themselves.

I highly doubt any Texan billionaire donated. They probably took a private jet ride to California to ride out the storm.

Kudos to them.

I'm really happy some celebrities have stepped up in a big way.

I know the cynical thing is to view this as a publicity stunt, but it's a no win situation for the celebrities either way. If they said nothing, then people would continue to denigrate celebrities ("look at those selfish and self centered celebs"). But if they donated, then the same people would say it was only for attention.

The fact of the matter is... money that they donated will still help the people suffering regardless of these celebrities motives. Let's just hope that they did not donate to the Red Cross and that all the money they did donate goes to the people of Houston.

Me too! I've been really impressed and proud by Americans' response to Hurricane Harvey victims. It's the exact opposite of Hurricane Katrina. Bravo, they learned well from that hard lesson.
