The actress revealed the diagnosis Thursday in a tweet sent to her approximately 748,000 followers. The post also included her thoughts on health care access.
"1 in 8 women get breast cancer. Today, I'm the one," her post read. "The good news is that I have the most glorious group of supportive and caring family and friends, and fantastic insurance through my union. The bad news is that not all women are so lucky, so let's fight all cancers and make universal health care a reality."

I actually said out loud "oh no" on the bus a few moments ago. I hope it was caught early and she pulls through with the absolute minimum of discomfort. Get well Julia.

I just read about it. That's sad. Hopefully it was caught early and that she has a more treatable and curable form of breast cancer. I wish her well.

I'm happy that Julia Louis-Dreyfus appears to be well on her way to recovery. She completed her chemo treatments in January and had surgery in February with good results.

This news story below is from April.
The New York native, a perennial Emmy winner, wrapped her chemo treatments in January, and she underwent surgery in February, updating fans on her Instagram: “Hoorah! Great doctors, great results, feeling happy and ready to rock after surgery. Hey cancer, “F–k you!” Here’s my first post-op photo.”
