If I had time to sit down and really listen to someone tell their story, I'd love to meet Dr. John.

And I really wish I could've met both of the Magliozzi brothers from Car Talk.

I'm English, so maybe I'm missing something here. I don't know much about this man, beyond he owned Playboy magazine, and used to run those Playboy clubs back in the day. Beyond that, he just seemed like a very homely, old guy. I don't understand interest in him at all.
Aside from being one of the coolest men in pop culture history.... he’s done a lot of good in the world of entertainment. Like not just allowing black people to preform at the Playboy club but allowing them to party there WITH the other guests during segregation. He was also the first to have a black woman featured in the magazine in the 60s. Playboy had a openingly transgender Playmate in 2017. Hefner proved the money to keep up the Hollywood sign in California a few times. I could go on but I think you get my point.

That's interesting, but he always seemed very boring to me when I saw him interviewed on the telly. To me, he had the charisma of a rocking horse. But still, there you are.

An openly transgender playmate huh? Boy, I'm real sorry I missed that.........

After watching the TV program "Better Late than Never" I would go with William Shatner, he is really funny. Other than that, Mike Brewer from Wheeler Dealers.

Never occurred to me....they don't hold any special place in my mind....unless they have contributed something to the world other than being a movie star or other celebrity.

Just one example

Robert Redford, years ago, became one of the first to make a significant personal effort toward conservation of western states, then also started Sundance Film Festival where new artists can preview their works or learn editing, writing, film making.

I still don't care to meet him though....

Laughing at these people who have no interest in celebrities, yet they're spending time in the Celebrities subforum.

Raquel Welch. I have adored her from afar for over 50 years. Ever since as a 12 year old boy, I saw her in 'One Million Years BC.'

I saw every one of her lousy films. Not a single good one......... But, you didn't go to see a Raquel Welch film for great stories, you went just to admire her great beauty.

She is an old lady now, but still my girl Raquel.......... Just listen to her divine laugh.........
