Learn something new every day, thanks to NPR. Amazing that he lived this long.

Yeah, heard the news yesterday and felt a little sad.

They are all gone now, but live on in an amazing (especially for its time) film.

Wow.

And the two left who appeared onscreen and are still alive are pretty amazing:

Ambrose Schindler --- He was, after the Wizard of Oz, the MVP of the 1940 Rose Bowl game playing for USC. He's 101 years old, and surfed until he was 75 years old.

Caren Marsh Doll -- became a dancer after being an actress, nearly died in a plane crash where she endured her foot, and was able to recover and continue dancing. She was married to Bill Doll (Mike Todd's press agent) until he passed away in 1979. Her sister was also an actress. When her sister retired in 1971, she bought and moved into the house next door to her in Palm Springs. Her sister passed away in 2011, so they got to live next door to each other for 40 years. Caren is 99 years old.
