Why're they so sure it's a suicide? Is there a note? Did he talk about killing himself? Was he dying?

I caught his show a few times and liked it, although I didn't share his political views. RIP.

Yeah, you have to be somewhat of a masochist to flourish in that profession.

I wondered if it was like Heath Ledger, too many drugs causing respiratory depression, hence death.

I wonder if he started using again and just couldn't face going thorough the hellish withdrawal and recover process over again.
I'm very saddened by this, I read somewhere he hung himself but it was on social media so the source is not reliable..

Default Pass in review, friends.

He always seemed intense, fully present in the moment.

Condolences to his family & friends & fans.

I liked him. Cool guy. But he always looked very unhealthy and seemed to drink a lot on his shows in front of the camera and it made me wonder how much he drinks off camera.

So much success. One of the coolest jobs. Still unhappy. Bizarre.

I enjoyed watching his shows for years, even read a couple of his books. I enjoyed him because he was urbane, witty with a funny world view, all wrapped up in a great story.

I read in the Daily Mail that the lady he was seeing, was in Rome this week with another man. Maybe that was a factor, but he had a lot to live for and I didn’t think he would be the type to do something so permanent. Ah well, RIP Tony.

He had his demons, and outlined them pretty clearly in the Massachusetts episode of Parts Unknown.

In retrospect, his unhappiness was obvious. But his gruffness and blunt talk made him appealing to so many people. He probably would not have been as popular if he had the demeanor of Fred Rogers.
