Mr. Tab Hunter became an icon of the gay community in his later years. Having lived through the repression and hatred of homosexuals of 1950's and 1960's he remained in the closet as did Rock Hudson, Roddy McDowell, Anthony Perkins (rumored lover), and many others. But at least the man lived long enough to see attitudes change including marriage "equality".
